ACT - Action Counters Terrorism

At Fest Buddies we care and share the values of event organisers and promoters with regards to your safety and security and event staff and festival goers.

 

We recommend that every volunteer with Fest Buddies take this online course and get the certificate. Along with a DBS certificate both hold a value to you as a volunteer and in the wider community. The course will take around an hour to complete. You will learn a few things plus we hope you enjoy it.

The ACT Awareness eLearning course will provide nationally recognised corporate CT (Counter Terrorism) guidance to help industry (and employees) better understand, and mitigate against, current terrorist methodology.

The course covers;

  1. Introduction to Terrorism

  2. Identifying Security Vulnerabilities

  3. How to Identify and Respond to Suspicious Behaviour

  4. How to Identify and Deal with a Suspicious Item

  5. What to do in the Event of a Bomb Threat

  6. How to Respond to a Firearms or Weapons attack

  7. A Summary and Supporting Material

Once on the website you will have to answer a few questions, you can use the following as a guide to help you with the drop down boxes;

  • Job Role - Stewarding

 

Once you complete this part you will access the online course, by clicking on "starting a new training session". Find a quiet place to concentrate and turn the sound up. You navigate through the sections using the Main Menu / dashboard.

If you find it does not load after a short while try another we browser or another device if you have access to one.

Good luck with the e-learning and importantly keep a copy of the certificate (electronically and hard copy) as you may need it to attend events that we support.
